New Community Church
Brand Identity
This is the Brand Identity I organized for New Community Church. An identity like this is extremely important for an organization to keep a consistent look and voice through all the different ways they engage with people.

In these images, you'll see some descriptions that act as 'rules' for the brand. It's important to define how to visualize this look. There is a priority on which logos to use, when to use different colors, specific formatting of type, certain shapes to use with images. All of these elements are key to keeping a consistent look no matter who's designing the graphic or what platform it's being shared on.

The blue color you see became the most iconic part of this brand. It's accented with neutral colors and otherwise is all about the typeface.
The typography is all about simplicity and legibility. The bold lowercase look gives the type personality while still being extremely easy to read.

Pictures are often incorporated into designs for NCC but we didn't want them to date the overall brand. Because of this, the brand is based on simple shapes and colors but allows easy integration of pictures where it's helpful.
There are still rules for using pictures and keeping these polygonal shapes around the images helps cut out unnecessary space as well as giving a fun look to graphics utilizing pictures.
NCC Kids
New Community Church is an organization made up of multiple departments. One of which being all about kids! 'NCC Kids' needed its own look and voice so we created a separate brand for this particular department. We wanted it to mesh well with the overall brand and echo some design elements as well as have its own style and character.

Primary Color Palette

For a space that's all about kids, we needed something more fun and energetic. We kept simple shapes but used lots of angels rather than boxes to add energy.
The colors have a similar feel to the main NCC blue, and we gave NCC Kids 2 color palettes to use so that their look - because it has more bright colors - wouldn't feel too 'old' too quickly.

Secondary Color Palette

The logo is based on a circle like the main NCC logo and we used the same typography as the main brand.
The shapes behind the titles changed colors for kids to help add to their look but keeping the same font helps with consistency.
NCC: OS
I put together another brand for NCC called 'NCC:OS'. This is an internal system that the staff uses as a structure for goals and intentional work. Because it's not engaging people on such a wide scale, I adjusted the look of this to stand apart from the main NCC Brand. I wanted it to be easy to categorize elements that were a part of this 'OS' structure from what was church-wide and meant for public engagement.

This is a custom illustration I created to visually connect all of the elements of this 'OS' structure.

The bright red color helps this brand stand out as well as just being very different from the main NCC blue, but similarly to the main brand this 'OS' brand uses one primary color supported by neutrals.
I used a different font family to help separate this from the main look as well. Using different weights of type as well as different colors really helps categorize the information so it's easy to quickly understand.
